HOW OFTEN DO HAIR EXTENSIONS NEED RE-ADJUSTING?

Some hair extension systems such as the types we use at Eve hair Extensions, are designed to be re-usable for multiple re-adjustments. This means you get more wear out of your set of extensions. No need to buy new hair every time they grow out, you can just have the same set re-adjusted!

Other extension systems such as the keratin bonds are not designed to be re-usable and must be removed rather than readjusted. This can be come expensive if you want to continue wearing them as you would have to purchase a new set each time.

A re-adjustmentof reusable types of extension systems such as the nano bead, micro bead, tape extensions is recommended every 6 – 12 weeks, depending on the hair extension method & how fast your natural hair grows.

The more frequently you re-adjust the extensions the better. It is kinder on your natural hair and the less visible they will be the closer they are to your roots. Leaving the adjustment cycles too far apart can stress your hair and you may be prone to more slipping out or being seen.

As the hair extension attachment point allows your hair to keep growing while attached, after about 8 weeks it will have grown down evenly with your natural hair by approximately 1 inch to 1.5 inches from your roots. This is when you would want to have the extension re-adjustment (using the same set of hair extensions)re-fitted close to your scalp once again.

You can see the extensions have not fallen out, just grown down and are ready to be re-positioned again. The same set of hair extensions can be used again for this method, the nano bead hair extension method. extensions are re-adjusted neatly with new beads.

How is the re-adjustment carried out?

The bead is removed, your hair is brushed out and the same extension pieces are re-fitted neatly again back near the roots with a new bead. Maintenance should be kept up every 6-8 weeks for the best results. This involves removing the extensions entirely from your head, then freshly reapplying with new beads securing them once again close to your roots for another 8 weeks of vavavoom hair!

Keeping the maintenance cycles on-time is best practice when it comes to wearing hair extensions. This helps to keep your hair in the best condition and works towards avoiding any damage from occurring that can be caused by leaving extensions in past their maintenance due date.

Re-usable hair extensions can also be completely removed and kept aside to be re-applied at a later date if you prefer not to wear them constantly. Removal of hair extensions can be done in as little as 10-30 minutes or up to 1hr depending how many you had applied.

Maintenance appointments generally take about 40 minutes to 2 hours depending on the quantity of hair extensions you had installed. As the hair can be reused, the cost of reapplication is considerably less than the initial purchase price.
